Southern Angami Women Organisation (SAWO) organised a cleanliness campaign on November 12, a drive in support of plastic free campaign.
Women from all 11 units of Southern Angami came together to clean the area from Lerie to BOC. A short programme was held before the social work started, where SAWO president Thono Kechü stated that the main goal is to show the support towards government to “Say no to plastic” and “Clean Kohima.” They also appealed all the shopkeepers and restaurants/hotel owners to keep a dustbin outside their shops to avoid littering.
The president also hopes that this will set a good example among the other citizens and do their best to keep the city clean.
PWD engineer (South) Vizotuo Seletsu who was also present applauded the mothers for the good initiative and hoped that citizens also learn something from the mothers and support the cause.
