Reacting to the recent dismantling of a human trafficking and sexual exploitation network by Kohima police, the Southern Angami Women Organisation (SAWO) has expressed deep shock over the “unfortunate and despising act of an immoral activities” allegedly committed by one Neisedenuo Thuphre, a resident of Naga Bazar Colony, Kohima.
In a press release, SAWO president Visetsole Sophie and general secretary Kikrukhonuo Pfukha said they were “horrified” that the life of a teenage was nipped in the bud by the “evil action” of the perpetrators and that too within the Naga society.
Expressing concern that such heinous crimes were starting to seep into the Naga society, SAWO said such crimes were “not only illegal and unwanted activities but also an assault to humanity.”
In this regard, SAWO has strongly appealed the police and investigation authority to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that perpetrators of such crime were brought to justice.
The organisation asserted that such acts had no place in the society and must be addressed with seriousness, adding perpetrators must be punished under the law without any leniency and delay.
