Servanthood Bible College (SBC) celebrated its 35th foundation day-cum-cultural programme at the college campus here on Saturday. Minister of Rural Development, SIRD Metsubo Jamir, who graced the event as guest of hounour, remembered the founder of the college, late Rev Tsuknung, and described him as a man of faith, who was like a religious guide to them.
He expressed gratitude to the founder and his family for sustaining the college for 35 years which provides opportunities to students pursuing theology studies. He expressed hope that the college would continue with its mission in providing holistic education.
Further, Jamir while reflecting from the narrative on how Jesus feed the 5000 gatherings with just blessings of a prayer and asked his disciples to collect the fragments after the feast, cited that Jesus was not focused only on merrymaking of the gatherings but also took care of the leftovers.
He therefore encouraged the students that being a biblical graduate, pastor or associating with any churches was not only about looking after their congregation, but also taking care of the fragments that live outside their service by helping the needy poor, sick, widows and orphans.
The programme was chaired by Merenyanger and Dolemlepla, invocation by lecturer Atoli, genesis of SBC by principal Moa, special prayer for SBC by principal UCTM Rev. Dr. Ashong Serto and benediction by lecturer Obed Rai.
