SBI conducts financial literary camp

State Bank of India (SBI), lead bank office Mon in collaboration with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) regional office Nagaland, has conducted a financial literacy camp on January 11 at Monyakshu village in Mon district.
The camp was attended by the village council members, church and village members, students and public of Monyakshu Village.
During the camp, village members were asked to open accounts like savings bank account, recurring deposit account, term deposit account, basic savings account etc.
SBI Lead District Manager has highlighted various benefits of having a bank account. He has also highlighted on various avenues for availing credit facilities like Kissan Credit Card, General credit card etc, for genuine account holders. Further, he informed that Personal Accidental Insurance scheme is available for a minimum deposit of Rs 100 per year with an assured amount of Rs 4 lakh only.
The members were also informed to form SHGs, JLGs etc., for availing the various credit facilities provided by the banks. The members were also informed about the policy of the Government of India that recommended for every household in the country to have a minimum of one account with any bank to facilitate transaction of payment of MNREGS fund, payment of scholarships, refund of any subsidized payment like the recently launched PAHAL Scheme etc.
Financial Diaries provided by the Reserve Bank of India were also handed out to the participants. The participants were informed in detail about the different rate of interest for the various types of savings and credit facilities available in the bank. It was stressed that the loan should be repaid without any default so as to build a healthy relationship between the bank and the public.
