State Bank of India (SBI) inaugurated its branch office at Jakhama Town on August 27. Chief General Manager, Guwahati Circle, Sahadevan Radhakrishnan unveiled the plaque along with Southern Angami Public Union, president Er. Tepul Hopovi.
In his address, CGM Sahadevan Radhakrishnan said Jakhama branch was a full-fledged branch not only for saving bank accounts, but will provide all kind of deposit services, investment services, insurance, remittance and financial recruitment services and agriculture loans and students’ loans will also be provided.
In his short speech, Er. Tepul lauded the SBI officials and said that it has been the long felt desire to have SBI branch in the area. He called upon the people of the area to lend their support to the bank and make the best use of the facilities provided. He also said that the bank will not just be for the Jakhama Town but also for the neighbouring villages as well.
Youth President, Jakhama Vishuthazo Kirha also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Senior Pastor, Jakhama Baptist Church, Rev. Zapovil Sophie invoked God’s blessings. DGM (B&O) Jorhat Module, Sarabhi Bhattacharya delivered welcome address while vote of thanks was pronounced by Regional Manager RBO Dimapur, Huber A S Wungshim. The program was attended by bank officials, SDO (C) Jakhama, Town Committee Jakhama and all village councils chairmen from Southern Angami, public leaders and well-wishers.
