DIMAPUR, MAY 15 (NPN): The three-day golden jubilee celebration of the Sumi Baptist Theological Association (SBTA) commenced on Friday at Trinity Theological College, Thahekhu, under the theme “Ghile Hukulu Lokivi” based on Psalms 126:6.
The inaugural programme began with the dedication of a commemorative monolith proposed by Rev. Dr. Khekovi Shohe and unveiled by Hekhuli Y. Jimo. The ceremonial trumpet was blown by Toto K. Sumi, MD, Lhomithi, BA, while the jubilee flag was hoisted by former SBTA treasurer Rev. Zuhokhu Kiba.
A special session was led by former SBTA president Rev. Dr. Kiyeto G. Sema, who spoke on the theme “Ghile Hukulu Nguagha Kupumi” based on 1 Timothy 4:12. SBTA president Dr. Hutton Sumi delivered the presidential address, highlighting the association’s journey, contributions and commitment towards theological education and spiritual growth over the past five decades.
During the programme, the jubilee souvenir was formally released by Professor Rev. Dr. Akheto Sema.
The golden jubilee celebration will culminate on May 17 with various commemorative and spiritual programmes scheduled during the three day event.
