
A national level online faculty development programme under the theme, “academic writing” for teaching faulty of college, universities and research scholars was organised by IQAC and Research Committee of Sao Chang College (SCC), Tuensang from August 4-10.
A press release by the college stated that the objective of the programme was to learn about details involved in writing effective research paper and to understand the process of publication.
Resource persons assistant professor (department of Education) Mizoram University, Dr. Kabita Kumari spoke on “Research Writing: Exploring the Paradigms” and “Research Writing: Building Blocks” and assistant professor (department of chemistry) SCC, Dr. Shokip Tumtin spoke on “An Elementary Approach Towards Publishing Review Papers in Journals”.
Another resource person, head, government polytechnic, Gaya, Dr. N. K. Prasad while speaking on “Article Writing: Best Practices” briefed the characteristics of scholarly article and explained how to write article and how to publish them in reputed peer reviewed journals.
Assistant professor, Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal, National Council of Educational Research and Training, Dr. Vanthangpui Khobung spoke on “Details: I” while resource person, assistant professor (department of education) Mizoram University, Dr. Kabita Kumari spoke on “Citing References”.
In a keynote address, director, Higher Education Nagaland, Dr. Apeni Lotha encouraged teachers to stay driven in order to excel in one’s chosen field.
The programme saw active participation and interaction between the resource persons and participants along with practical exercises and discussions. The six-day national faculty development programme concluded with a valedictory session.
