Surumi Community Dimapur (SCD) has vehemently condemned the incident of March 4 wherein Vitoho of 9th NAP (IR) Battalion, Saijan, Peren was beaten up at Jalukie. A press release by SCD chairman, Vikiho Awomi and general secretary, Akato Jakhalu claimed that Vitoho was allegedly beaten up without any rhyme or reason. Stating that currently Vitoho was in hospital in serious condition, SCD urged upon the law enforcing authority to grant befitting punishment to the accused person. It also stated that the accused should be kept behind bar, failing which the SCD would take its “own course of action”.
