The Sendenyu Community Ecotourism Board (SCEB) and Kenono Foundation have signed an agreement to jointly develop and manage the Sendenyu Community Responsible Tourism Initiative (SCRTI).
The agreement was signed at the Ecotourism Destination Center, New Sendenyu Village, under the theme: “Nature educates, tourism inspires, and leadership transforms”, with the presence of leaders from the Village Councils, organizations, churches under Sendenyu Lojvu and invitees from Kenono Foundation and CRBC.
The partnership highlighted a shared vision of stewardship, sustainability, and transformative leadership, strengthening Sendenyu’s role as a model for community-led conservation and responsible tourism.
Delivering key addresses, chairman of SCEB, Gwasinlo Thong, and chairman of Kenono Foundation, Rev. Haiwalo Apon, highlighted the partnership’s importance in promoting responsible tourism, conservation, and community leadership.
Both parties signed the agreement, witnessed by representatives from Sendenyu Baptist Church, Sendenyu Chipwen Union, and the Sendenyu Community Biodiversity and Wildlife Conservation Board.
A certificate of collaboration was issued, formally recognizing SCEB and Kenono Foundation’s commitment to promote biodiversity education, creating a space for counseling and leadership, advancing responsible tourism, and strengthening community leadership and capacity-building.
Earlier, the signing program was chaired by chief executive of Kenono Foundation, Ruchinilo Kemp, invocation by pastor of Sendenyu Baptist Church, Tenyenilo Thong, and followed by an exhortation and a special prayer for the collaboration, led by Yhunthonglo Khing, president of CRBC. The program concluded with the singing of Hymn, benediction by pastor of New Sendenyu Baptist Church, Rokoulie Thong.
