Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) observed Literary Day under the theme “Celebrating Diversity through Creativity” on September 8.
Author and researcher, Dr. Inakali Assumi, graced the event as special guest. Dr. Assumi, the author of “Yellow Dress” and winner of the best objective Poetry Award 2016, encouraged students to dive deep into the world of literature and art.
She highlighted that reading about art, culture, and history broadens horizon and fosters understanding and appreciation of diverse perspectives. Principal, Dr. Fr. Paul Punii, emphasized the importance of literature in shaping minds and futures.
Drawing a link between literature and leadership, he challenged the students to immerse themselves in the written word to transform the world positively.
The event featured a poetry slam, extempore speech, drama, dance, and various other literary art competitions. HoD of the English department, Vitsino Haikam, delivered the welcome address.
