Schedules and venues announced for North East Games

The North East Sports Association (NESA) has announced the schedules and venues for the North East Games 2024, set to take place from March 18 to 23, 2024 in Nagaland. The North East Games 2024 will commence with an opening ceremony on March 18 at 7 pm at the Games Village, promising a spectacular start to this celebration of athleticism and sportsmanship. Athletes and spectators can look forward to witnessing competitions across various sports disciplines held at the following venues:

  1. Archery: March 19 – 23 at 1st NAP ground, Chümoukedima
  2. Athletics: March 19 – 23 at IG Stadium, Kohima
  3. Badminton: March 19 – 22 at Tetso College, Sovima
  4. Basketball: March 19 – 23 at Tetso College, Sovima
  5. Boxing: March 19 – 23 at Archery Complex, Sovima
  6. Football: March 19 – 23 at NAPTC, Chümoukedima
  7. Lawn Tennis: March 19th – 23rd at Tennis Complex, Kuda Village
  8. Pencak Silat: March 19 – 21 at Futsal B, Sovima
  9. SepakTakraw: March 19 – 21 at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima
  10. Table Tennis: March 19 – 21 at Multidiscipline Sports Complex, Sovima
  11. Taekwondo: March 21 – 23 at Futsal A, Sovima
  12. Volleyball: March 19 – 22 at Shooting Complex, Sovima
  13. Belt Wrestling: March 23 at Multidiscipline Sports Complex, Sovima
  14. Wrestling: March 22 at Multidiscipline Sports Complex, Sovima
  15. Wushu: March 19 – 20 at Futsal A, Sovima
    The North East Games 2024 will conclude with a closing function on March 23 at 7 pm, at the Games Village, where athletes will be honored for their performances and commitment to the spirit of fair play
    NOA seeks support & cooperation for the upcoming NE Games
    In view of the upcoming Northeast Games, slated to be hosted in partnership with the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and the Department of Youth Resources, Government of Nagaland, NOA has appealed to the citizens of the hosting areas and surrounding places to kindly bear with the sound of the practice sessions and the performances.
    In a press release NOA through its media team informed that on the part of the organizers, all attempts will be made to ensure that the performances during the games do not go beyond the stipulated time, and efforts will be made to keep the disturbances to a minimum.
    It informed that in the run-up to the preparations, the hosting venues will be conducting practice sessions, rehearsals and sound checks for the various events including the opening and closing ceremonies. There will also be cultural performances and featured shows every evening during the entire duration of the Games.
    While appreciating all sections for the positive support and solidarity, NOA appealed to all well-wishers and the citizens of the State to continue to extend their co-operation and support for the overall success of the Games. “We believe that we will always be Stronger Together, which is our motto”, stated NOA.
    The association said that this event will be one of the biggest sporting events to be hosted by Nagaland as all States of the North-East will be competing in 15 disciplines. The event stands as a significant platform to celebrate and promote the rich sporting culture of the region. It is an endeavor aimed at fostering unity and solidarity among the North East States.
