The department of school education would commence telecast of video lessons of important subjects for classes 8, 9, 10 and 12 through Doordarshan (DD) Kohima from May 1 to compensate loss of instructional days caused due to the ongoing Lockdown. The lessons will also be broadcast through All India Radio (AIR) Kohima from May 2.
In this regard, principal director Shanavas C instructed deputy commissioners (DCs)of all districts to entrust ADCs/SDOs(C)/EACs to coordinate with all village/ward councils under their jurisdiction and make necessary arrangements for students who do not have facilities to access DD at home to view/listen to the broadcast at a common place like council hall, school auditorium, etc, as ensuring maximum coverage for the DD telecast and AIR broadcast across the State, including the remote areas, was very much essential for achieving the obje ctives of the programme.
The principal director said the broadcast schedule had been made in such a way that only two classes would be having lessons on a particular day, so that children did not group up in large numbers in schools/village council halls where telecast could be viewed. He also shared a copy of the broadcast schedule for reference to the DCs.
He sought their personal intervention of the DCs in the matter.
