Schools to observe ‘Freedom Fortnight’

Ministry of Human Resource Development,  department of School education and Literacy Shastri Bhavan New Delhi has asked the schoolchildren across the country to celebrate the “Azadi 70-Yaad Karo Kurbani” (Freedom Fortnight) from August 9 to 23 August in a befitting manner. In this regard the department of school education, Nagaland has notified all the DEO, DDEO, SDEO, principals and headmasters  to supervise and monitor the activities of Azadi 70 -Yaad Karo Kurbani”(Freedom Fortnight) celebration and submit a brief report of both the government and private school along with photographs to the directorate of school education. Additional director (HoD) DoSE, Wonthungo Tsopoe in a release informed that mass singing of the national anthem would be conducted for all school children in the state on August 23 at 11 am. Suggested activities are: painting of greeting cards for jawans posted at the border stations, mass tree plantation drive, schools to invite persons who can talk on freedom movement of 1857, painting competition, elocution, freedom run, essay writing competition, play with freedom movement as theme, slogan writing competition and singing(patriotic songs) competition.
