Departments of Soil & Water Conservation (S&WC), Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science (AH&VS), in separate functions bid farewell to outgoing senior officials in Kohima.
S&WC: A joint farewell programme was organized by department of Soil & Water Conservation (S&WC), Kohima, for outgoing director S. N. Singh and cartographist Temjenlemba at the directorate’s conference hall on April 2.
A press release from S&WC Kohima, stated that, both outgoing officers rendered 35 years of service to the department. The outgoing director, S.N Singh, while maintaining that it was a sad day for him, thanked officers and staff of the department for their co-operation and concern. He also advised them to be sincere in carrying out their responsibilities. Temjenlemba, also thanked his colleagues and staff for their moral support, prayer and counsel and for having a positive impact on his life.
The incoming head of department, Viliehu Nguzhü praised both officers for their commitment, inspiration and efficiency in delivering public service to the best of their abilities. He also believed in the potential of the officers and staff and that good team work and co-ordination could bring the best solution to problems.
District soil conservation officer, Kiphire, Chumei Yanlem congratulated both the officers for the successful completion of their service tenure. She also expressed her gratitude for their steady faithfulness in executing assigned responsibilities.
The programme was presided over by K. Zhekheto Awomi, project director and a vote of thanks was delivered by Kevingutso Rutsa, joint director.
AH&VS: Three senior-most officers of the department — director Dr. I. P Khala, additional director, Dr. Rongsentemjen Ao and additional director, Dr. Viral Yore, on their retirement, were accorded a farewell on March 31 at the directorate conference hall.
Acknowledging the services rendered by the three officers on behalf of the state government, commissioner & secretary, M. K Mero congratulated them for completing 35 years of service without stigma or blemish.
Mero was also confident that younger doctors led by the incoming HoD Dr. Walling could take up the challenge in guiding the department forward.
He encouraged the officers and staff of the department to be more cohesive among the different sectors of the department and the districts and introduce innovative programs.
Speeches were also delivered on behalf of the AH&VS officers by joint director Dr. L. Temsu, on behalf of the districts by CVO Phek, Dr. Weprenyi Mero, Nagaland Veterinary Association Dr. Ilang, NVFAA B. Imlier Jamir and ministerial staff registrar Zapori.
The outgoing officers also delivered short speeches while Dr. Neikeyielie Theunuo tendered the vote of thanks. Additional director Dr. Aomangyang Walling has assumed office as the head of department.
