SDFD organize training on fishery products

Shamator District Fishery Department (SDFD) organised a three-day non-residential training programme on importance of fishery by-products, fish consumption and products of making value added products under PMMSY funded by NFDB on September 11.

The training programme was conducted by department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. According to DIPR report, at the training, resource person DFO Shamator Shaenyung Ough, emphasised on the value addition in the fishery products, which has become the most prominent approach in the fish industry. She encouraged farmers that low valued fish and bulk catches would be profitable and could be utilized to prepare diversified fish products with better quality assurance and longer shelf life. Altogether 25 participants attended the training programme.
