The monthly SDPDB meeting of Bhandari sub-division was held at the conference hall of Summer House-Cum-Guest House, Bhandari, Wokha. Chaired by ADC and SDPDB vice chairman, Longasen Lotha, the meeting welcomed new members and reviewed previous discussions.
During the meeting, Deputy Director of Nagaland State Seed Farm, Merapani, H. Lawrence, informed that awareness campaigns had been conducted in recent weeks to engage farm tenants, community leaders, and groups. He urged stakeholders to take up concerns with the competent authority instead of resorting to disruptive actions. Despite challenges, he reaffirmed the department’s commitment to producing high-quality seeds and planting materials for farmers while appealing for peace in the area.
Lawrence also highlighted that the State Seed Farm has been operating without electricity since its establishment in 1969, severely hampering operations. He urged authorities to ensure steady power supply to resolve ongoing challenges at the farm.
The house emphasized the need to identify and report troublemakers affecting law and order at Nagaland State Seed Farm, Merapani, directing complaints to the nearest police stations in Bhandari and Merapani.
Acknowledging the electrical department’s efforts in delivering services despite constraints, the house appealed for a pool vehicle to assist with mobility across the large geographical expanse of the sub-division.
Meanwhile, SDO (Civil) Ralan, Tsenthungo E. Ngullie, updated on the ongoing construction of the SDO (Civil) office, stating that work was progressing on schedule.
