Sub-Division Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) Pughoboto under Zunheboto district during its pre-Christmas on Thursday has released its first ever book on 13th Pughoboto A/C growth and progress 2013-17 (LADP and other development works).
Addressing a mammoth gathering from different villages under the sub-division, Additional Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of Pughoboto SDPDB, Avelu Ruho lauded the efforts of the people of area for sincere utilisation of the developmental funds provided through the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) fund.
She expressed hope that the festive season would bring joy and peace with a hope for better future for the sub-division.
Pughoboto Town Baptist Church, Pastor Rev Akhato Achumi delivered the Christmas message on the occasion.
The annual clean Pughoboto award among the 24 villages in the sub-division went to Pughboto Town. A cash award of Rs 5 lakh and citation was handed over to Adhoc Town Committee Pughoboto by Ahikali Swu, wife of Y Vikheho Swu, MLA. Marking the celebrations, Pughoboto SDPDB also presented gifts to senior citizens and persons with special needs of Pughoboto town, sponsored by local MLA, Vikheho.
Vice chairman of Pughoboto Adhoc Town Committee Viyikhu Wotsa extended greetings while the celebrations commenced with opening prayer by Pastor Pasang Sherpa of Police Baptist Church, scripture reading by Ghoshili V Wotsa and closing prayer by Pastor Prince Rai of Nepali Baptist Church Pughoboto. Welcome address by SDO(C) Chonpenthung Ezung and vote of thanks by SDC(C) Tiayanger Jamir. Special numbers were presented by Topeni Shohe, Senior Group PTBC, NCRC Pughoboto, NAP Women Group, Junior Group PTBC and Pilivi Swu. With state assembly elections round the corner, an open air movie under SVEEP campaign entitled “Nana” was also screened after the celebration.
