Search on for missing woman: Mon police

Staff Reporter

A 29-year-old woman, identified as one Liina H Chophi, who reportedly went missing on March 30 from Thamman ward, Mon Town, remains untraced, even as police investigations are underway.

Superintendent of Police Mon, Wapang Longkumer, disclosed that upon receiving the information, the police launched a search at the last known location, but were unable to find any leads. After inspecting CCTV footages from different locations, the police discovered that she boarded a Dimapur-bound Sumo around 6:10 am on Saturday. It was further learned from the driver and other passengers that Liina alighted at Mariani, SP said.

Subsequently, Mon police contacted SP Jorhat, following which a police team in Mariani was deputed to search for the missing person. According to police, based on the information from the sumo counter, Liina had reportedly booked the tickets on March 29 and also left her purse and mobile phone before departing for Dimapur. This has made it difficult to trace her current location, police added.

Meanwhile, Women PS Mon has also issued details of the missing person Liina and requested anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact 6009308144/9862992177/8974799852.
