Season 2 Kohima Premier League 2026 heads for final

The Kohima Premier League (KPL) Season 2 2026, organised under the aegis of the Kohima District Cricket Association (KDCA), entered its third day at Sovima Cricket Ground, Chumoukedima, with Oking Outlaws and Capital Sixers booking their places in the final.
In the first match of the day, Oking Outlaws faced Central Hurricanes. After winning the toss, Oking Outlaws opted to field and successfully restricted the Hurricanes to 117 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Veri led the bowling attack with two wickets, while Amhalie, Thupuluzo, Keneilhouzo and Suneper claimed one wicket each.
For the Hurricanes, Temsulong top-scored with 24 runs, followed by Kelhousilie with 19 runs.
Chasing a target of 118, Oking Outlaws completed the run chase in 16 overs, losing three wickets. Suneper delivered a match-winning performance with a scintillating 55 runs off 44 balls, while Epha contributed 39 runs off 32 deliveries.
Vizoletuo was the pick of the Hurricanes’ bowlers, claiming two wickets for 28 runs in his four overs.
Suneper was declared Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
In the second match, Capital Sixers took on Ura Mavericks. After losing the toss, Ura Mavericks were put in to bat first. Despite a strong start by their top-order batsmen, disciplined bowling by Capital Sixers restricted the Mavericks to 131 runs for six wickets. Keviselhou returned figures of three wickets for 16 runs, while Jenithung supported with two wickets for 35 runs. Tapitu and Samuel Sumi were the top scorers for the Mavericks with 28 and 27 runs respectively.
In reply, Capital Sixers produced a dominant batting display. Imomenba remained unbeaten on 71, while Dziesevotuo John scored an unbeaten 50, guiding their team to victory in 13.3 overs. Although Tapitu struck early with two wickets for the Mavericks, the Sixers recovered swiftly to seal the win and secure a berth in the final.
Imomenba was adjudged Man of the Match for his unbeaten knock of 71.
The final of the Kohima Premier League Season 2 will be played on February 21 at 11:00 AM between Oking Outlaws and Capital Sixers at Sovima Cricket Ground, Chümoukedima.
