The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has set up a counter at Hornbill Festival, 2022, to provide financial literacy to the masses
According to a DIPR report, the stall has been set up to help individuals in management of their personal finances and to help them in various issues like complexity of financial products, prevalence of fraudulent and Ponzi schemes, need for funds to get a better quality of life after retirement, etc. Investment in stock markets not being a very common practice among the Nagas, officials manning the SEBI counter said that the local populace visiting the counter for queries and doubts was few, however, it has received a number of domestic tourists seeking answers related to their investments.
The SEBI counter will be opened till 10th December 2022 to help investors and those interested in investing in stock markets, by helping them to open a demat account, protecting accounts from unauthorized trades, basics of investing, etc.
