Sechü Zubza overpower Nurturing Youngsters 7-3 in AMSSL thriller

KOHIMA, AUG 17 (NPN): Sechü Zubza produced an attacking masterclass, defeating Nurturing Youngsters FC 7-3 in a high-scoring Match No. 5 of the Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League 2026 (AMSSL) at Kohima on Monday at IG Stadium.
Sechü Zubza wasted little time in asserting their dominance, with Pulovi Kiho opening the scoring in the 6th minute. Ayengmongba Chang doubled the advantage in the 26th minute before Thejavizo Peseyie added another in the 35th minute.
Sechü continued to find openings as Puloki Kiho scored in the 40th minute, while Thejavizo Peseyie struck again in the 46th minute to put the side firmly in control. Kekhrievor Kichü added Sechü’s sixth goal in the 64th minute before Ayengmongba Chang completed the scoring for his side in the 72nd minute.
Nurturing Youngsters FC, however, refused to go down without a fight and found the net three times. William Lamso scored in the 25th minute, followed by Menguzelie Rutsa in the 56th minute and Thejanguto Nagi in the 82nd minute.
The seven-goal haul underlined Sechü Zubza’s attacking strength, with Ayengmongba Chang and Thejavizo Peseyie scoring twice each, while Pulovi/Puloki Kiho and Kekhrievor Kichu also got on the scoresheet. The match sheet records the names and timings as provided by the teams.
The AMSSL, organised by the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Football Association in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, is being held under the theme “Honouring a Legacy.”
The premier district football competition seeks to provide a competitive platform for leading football clubs while promoting excellence, professionalism and sustainable football development. It also aims to strengthen standards in sporting integrity, administration, officiating, coaching, player welfare and event management, while creating pathways for player and club development.
The match patron for the day was president ANTA Dziesevituo Solo.
