Security forces recover arms and explosives near Indo-Myanmar border

Security forces recovered a cache of arms and explosives, including 15 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), from Yangoubung village near Indo-Myanmar border pillar-73 under Moreh police station in Tengnoupal district on March 28.
According to police, the recovery also included six 9mm pistols with magazines, one single barrel rifle, and two tactical radio sets. The IEDs were destroyed while the other items were handed over to the concerned police station.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles claimed in a social media post that its troops foiled a major infiltration attempt by 10 cadres of PREPAK (RA) in Tengnoupal. No further details were provided.
In a separate operation under the ongoing anti-extortion drive, security forces arrested an active cadre of KCP (PWG) identified as Maibam Pingku Singh (42) of Chingamathak Pishum Leirak. He was apprehended at Sangaiprou under Singjamei police station, Imphal West, on March 29. A mobile phone, an EPIC card and Rs. 100 in cash were seized from him.
Elsewhere, in Jiribam district, police arrested one individual with 5.2 kg of contraband ganja on Sunday. The accused, Sehkholien (52) of Saikulphai village, was intercepted between Chhotobekra and Latingkhal under Jiribam police station while transporting the contraband in five plastic bags on a two-wheeler (TVS NTORQ) bearing Assam registration number AS 11X-9252.
