Seithekema-C village council on Monday informed that it has strictly banned passenger busses and heavy vehicles crossing over the bridge along Patkai-Seithekema road for safety measures with immediate effect.
In a press release, village council chairman, Bei-u Thepa, said it was discovered that the bridge was unsafe for any vehicular movement as it has “developed wide crack on both side of the end to the eroding foundation.”
The village authority has also appealed to the responsible department to pay heed and take up necessary works at the earliest since the road was crucial bridge for the college and the only lifeline for the village and other adjoining villages.
