Seized IMFL, opium destroyed in Mon

Seized opium and IMFL worth around Rs. 3 lakh was destroyed by KNSK, the apex Konyak women’s organization at daily bazaar on March 31. 
According to DIPR report, the seized items were destroyed in  the presence of district administration, excise department, police, Assam Rifles, Church leaders, Konyak Union, Students body (KSU) and citizens. 
At a short destruction programme, KNSK president, Lomei Konyak said that it has decided to destroy the seized items on the eve of Aoleang festival in the public place, in order to disseminate strong message to both the users and the sellers, and also to create awareness to the masses and highlight the activities of the mothers’ organization. 
She thanked the NGOs, the district administration, police, excise department, Churches and the good citizens for their participation and sought their cooperation and support in the days ahead. 
She said that the opium and IMFL were seized from two persons.  
Short speeches were also delivered by Konyak Union vice president, KBBB executive secretary KBBB, Konyak Students Union president and EAC Sadar.
