Kohima Baptist Pastors Fellowship (KBPF) organised a seminar on clean election at Khedi Baptist Church, here, on Thursday.
Speaking at the programme, Clean Election Movement, Core Committee convenor, Dr. Villo Naleo reminded the church ministers, pastors and full-time workers of the sacred vow they had taken during their priesthood. He also urged upon them to serve as examples for the public.
While pointing out that the Church had its priorities, he said elections in Nagaland had become “very ludicrous and violent” due to money power and proxy voting.
Discouraging such malpractices, Dr. Villo stressed on creating awareness among the community with regard to “one person, one vote”.
Earlier, greetings was delivered by board chairman, Khedi Baptist Church, Vipralhou Kesiezie, KBPF president Vezopa Rhakho led the seminar, Sumi Baptist Church, pastor, Khekavi Peptho said a prayer while a song was presented by Khedi Youth.
Later, benediction was offered by Meitei Baptist Church, pastor, Jonathan Meitei.
