Seminar on oral healthcare and ill effects of tobacco

DIMAPUR

A seminar on oral health care and the ill effects of tobacco was held for parents and guardians of Grace Academy School, Thahekhu, on June 2 at Grace Academy School. The seminar, the first of its kind for parents and guardians, was held under National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Dimapur.
In a press release, NTCP, Dimapur, District Nodal Officer, Dr N. Moa Jamir informed that Dimapur NTCP psychologist, Imkumla Aier presented on oral health care and the ill effects of tobacco use. The seminar was followed by a consultation on oral health care for students and oral cancer screening for participants.
The medical officers included DNO (NTCP) Dimapur Dr. N. Moa Jamir, Dr. Sanen Longkumer, and Dr. Khriesi Sogotsi, along with three medical personnel, assisted the seminar.
A total of 45 parents and guardians volunteered for screening, with one case of a pre-cancerous lesion detected.
