Seminar on rights and entitlement held in Tsg

A week long seminar under the theme “know your rights and entitlements” was organised by International Human Rights Council (IHRC), Tuensang from February 20 to 24, 2021 at different villages in Tuensang. Resource persons for the seminar were state vice secretary, IHRC Nagaland, B. Yemlongchaba and president, IHRC Tuensang Unit, BM Yanchu

A press release by media in charge, IHRC Tuensang stated that during the seminar, the speakers focused on the theme and various schemes meant to be enjoyed by people in villages however, many were not aware of the rights.

Both speakers focused on the fundaments rights and duties of an individual and stated that no authority had to overrule any individual irrespective of sex, status and caste.

B. Yemlongchaba informed that government schemes such as MGNREGA and PMEGP were meant for villagers and should be benefited by them. He also said that the government’s scheme approaches were easy, yet if they were having difficulties availing them, the IHRC was ready to assist them. 

Over 300 individual including villagers councils, GBs, student leaders from New Helepong, Ngangpong, Khudei, Buthenbou and Old Helepong attended the seminar.
