Seminar on waste management in Pughoboto

A one-day seminar on waste management was conducted on January 19, at Kitami village in Pughoboto with two social workers Kahuli and Victo.

According to DIPR, both the resource persons dwelt on different types of waste and how to handle their disposal. A practical lesson on how to convert biodegradable wastes, like kitchen garbage, into useful products like manure, was also demonstrated for the public.

Vitoshe from Kushe Humunity Foundation gave a brief introduction of the foundation and its activities. Viniho Achumi GB Kitami spoke on behalf of the village.

During the program, Kitami village won the Cleanest Village Award, Pughoboto, for the year 2018. 

The award carries a certificate with cash citation of 5 Lakhs funded by LADF Pughoboto. A waste management project will also be carried out in the village.

The program was chaired by EAC Pughoboto, Nuhuta Tunyi and a vote of thanks was delivered by CDPO Ghathashi, Junito Jimo.
