Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (Ao Students’ Conference) first general secretary Semradangba Memorial Park was inaugurated by AKM president, Jemti Longchar at Lirmen village under Mokokchung district on December 29.
While paying homage to the late leader the AKM president Jemti stated that AKM reputation and laurels are the sweats and sacrifices make by their pioneers who were the first torch bearers for Aos.
Longchar also lauded the Humane Touch for their generous contribution for making this project into reality and expressed hope that the club would contribute more projects in coming days to come.
The AKM also honoured the late general secretary by giving him a new name Sentilong (in Jungli dialect) or Chentilung (in Mongsen dialect) which means “Gem.”
Lirmen village is approximately 90 kilometer away from the district headquarter and is the birthplace of AKM pioneer Semradangba. The park project was initiated by a local group from the village called Humane Touch commemorating the Lirmen Students Union Platinum Jubilee.
Earlier the park was dedicated by pastor Lirmen Baptist Arogo, Rev A Mar. Short speech were also delivered by Lirmen village council chairman, family members of late Semeradangba and Semiyuba Longchar.
