On the occasion of “international day of older persons” two distinguished senior citizens of Longleng Niamko Phom 94 years of Orangkong village and Nyemshok Wanlei 78 years of Tamlu village were awarded with district level distinguished senior citizen award on October 1, recognising their valuable contribution rendered to the society.
Meanwhile, in Dimapur, House of Friendship Old Age Home in partnership with rotary club Dimapur celebrated the occasion, wherein, members of rotary club Dimapur donated old age pension to 13 70+years of old age members and old pension from the govt. was handed over to 14 members. A press release by founder and chairman of the home, Akokla P Lucy stated that medicines like multi vitamin, calcium, liver tonic and face masks were also distributed to all those present in the function.
