Noted video documentarian and freelance journalist KV Nurumi passed away at a private hospital here on Friday after a brief ailment. Nurumu leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
Born on May 17, 1975, he was among the noted early documentarian and also a free-lance journalist of Nagaland.
He also contributed news and features to Nagaland Post including other media.
According to family sources, his funeral would be held at Chekiye village public ground on May 31, 2025 at 9 a.m.

With the passing away of Nurumi, Editor and staff of Nagaland Post said the media fraternity in Nagaland has lost a friend and a colleague.
They said his departure has left behind a huge vacuum that would be very difficult to fill for decades.
The Editor and Staff of Nagaland Post also expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed the Almighty God grant comfort and solace to overcome their deep grief and also prayed for everlasting peace for the departed soul.
DPC: Expressing deep grief over the passing of KV Nurumi, the Dimapur Press Club (DPC) said late Nurumi was a respected figure among media fraternity and contributed immensely to the profession through his work with various media organisations. DPC said his leadership, dedication, and mentorship left a lasting impression on colleagues and the wider media community.
The club extended condolences to the bereaved family and prated that they find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
KPC: Kohima Press Club (KPC) expressed shock and sorrow over the demise of its former president, KV Nurumi. He served as KPC president from 2010- 2012.
KPC described said Toto, as he was fondly called, was a respected journalist and a mentor for many young media entrants, saying he left a lasting imprint in their lives and in the lives KPC family through his leadership and camaraderie.
KPC said it would always remember his valuable contributions to the growth of the club under his leadership. It also offered condolences to bereaved family and all his loved ones. KPC also prayed that God grant strength, peace and comfort to his wife and his two daughters, and all those who mourn his demise.
