Senior men’s inter district qualifiers: Mon, Tseminyu win

The Senior Men’s Inter District Tournament Qualifiers produced contrasting results on Monday as Mon cruised to a comfortable victory over Kiphire, while Tseminyu held their nerve to edge past Phek in a thrilling contest.
At Ziphenyu ground, between Kiphire and Mon, Mon showcased a clinical performance after winning the toss and opting to field. Their disciplined bowling restricted Kiphire to 109 all out in 19.3 overs, with Sani Das providing resistance through a quickfire 45 off 24 balls.
Mon’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Stephen Patton (3/28) and Mom8n (2/21), who kept the opposition in check. In reply, Mon chased down the target with ease, reaching 112/3 in 15.3 overs. Lanpang P Konyak anchored the innings with a composed 51 not out off 31 balls, earning him the Player of the Match award.
In the second qualifier between Phek and Tseminyu at RSA ground, Phek posted a competitive 137/3 in 20 overs, boosted by a late surge from Thepuvet, who smashed 40 off 16 balls. Tseminyu’s bowlers, led by Prinal Deb (2/17) and Rohit Kumar Sah (1/14), managed to contain the scoring.
Chasing 138, Tseminyu reached 141/7 in 16.3 overs in a tense finish. Sinilo Kent played a crucial role with an unbeaten 42 off 36 balls, guiding his side to victory and being named Player of the Match. Phek’s bowling effort was highlighted by Vekro Rakho (3/24) and Vekuta Khamo (2/22), but it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat.
