
In pursuance to the work plan for implementing Food Safety activities in the State for 2020-2021, Food Safety Dimapur Zone under the establishment of Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur conducted two camps on Food Safety & Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) Licensing/Registration of Food Business Operator (FBO) under Food Safety.
According to designate officer (food safety) CMO Dimapur, Samuel Zehol, the first camp was conducted on March 8 at KUDD Complex, Dimapur followed by another camp on March 9 at CTC Hall, Chumukedima in co-ordination with district administration, Chumukedima Town Council and Chumukedima Chamber of Commerce & Trade Association.
During the camps, IEC materials were also distributed to the FBOs.
Meanwhile, at the camps FBOs were briefed on Food Safety & Standards Act 2006, Rules & Regulations 2011; Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Hygienic Practice (GHP); how to apply online for FSSAI licence/registration for Food Business Operator and labeling defects, imported food items, etc.
Earlier, keynote address was delivered by SDO (C) Thejavizo Nakhro SDO(C) and the resource person was designated officer, Dimapur, Samuel Zehol.
