
Sensitization programme on Poshan Abhiyaan as part of block convergence action plan (BCAP) for IEC and advocacy campaign under the national nutrition mission was held at Zubza council hall covering five villages- Sechuma, Keruphema Bawe and Basa, Peducha and Menguzouma under Sechu-Zubza block on August 29.
A press release from CDPO office Kohima stated that, James Ezung, CDPO Kohima (T) gave an overview of the Poshan Abhiyaan and urged upon the leaders of various committees under different line departments, mothers group and SHGs to take the lead and spread awareness for leading a good and healthy life.
PMMVY team Kohima made aware to the gathering the cash benefits available to the first pregnant and lactating mothers under PMMVY, a maternity benefit scheme and urged the eligible beneficiaries to avail the scheme through the Anganwadi functionaries.
BPM NRLM, Sechu-Zubza block also highlighted various activities undertaken by the department for promotion of livelihood and reduction of poverty. ASHA coordinator, urged upon the gathering to spread awareness for availing the services provided by the government.
Senior supervisor, Reyivolu also highlighted the symptoms, causes of anaemia which is more prevalent in women as compared to men and informed the gathering on its prevention through proper diet and medical intervention.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Keneilhoupfenuo, supervisor, invocation by Kekhoheizonuo, AWW and words of gratitude by Kevineizo, supervisor.
