
Sensitisation and counselling programme on “tobacco, alcohol and related issues” was held on March 24 at Police Training School Chümoukedima.
A press release by NTCP Dimapur stated that the programme was jointly organised by Nagaland Police Training School Chümoukedima in collaboration with District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) under National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Dimapur.
At the programme, resource person, district nodal officer, NTCP Dimapur, Dr. Reyosalu Lase Vizo sensitised the participants on the ill effects of tobacco, alcohol and other abusive substances.
Vizo encouraged them to keep away from these addictive substances which could cause diseases such as cancer, TB, heart diseases, lung diseases besides other chronic diseases.
She urged the participants to keep away from the habits in order to be mentally and physically fit.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by assistant principal PTS, Thungroni Kikon; officials who attended the programme were Principal PTS, Aboli Metha and vice principal, Meren Chenth. Altogether 212 participants including faculty and personnel attended the programme.
