Sensitization on child rights held at THS, Shokhuvi village

Childline Dimapur conducted sensitization programme on child rights and child welfare at Touch of Hope School (THS), Shokhuvi village on September 7 with Childline Centre coordinator, Lozua Kape as resource person.
Lozua Kape informed the students about the rights of every child sanctioned by the constitution and to seek assistance and information from the toll free Childline helpline 1098, which was manned 24/7. He spoke about the various types of child abuse and unwelcome touches by adults, which if encountered should be immediately reported and dealt with as silence would only aggravates the situation and further encourage the abuser.
Informative and educative videos on the rights of every child were also showed during the programme. 
Proprietor of the school, Nungsangmeren gave welcome address, invocation by principal THS, Lanu and programme concluded with quiz session on the various rights of children. There was also distribution of Childline leaflets.  Around 150 students of standard V to IX attended the programme.
