District Health Authority Zunheboto under CMO office conducted one day sensitization and training programme for pharmacy owners under Zunheboto district on April 26, at CMO office.
According to a press release by District Media Officer, Keneikhrietuo, deputy CMO Dr. K. Akaho Sema highlighted the responsibilities of pharmacy owners as keepers of life saving drugs and informed on strict compliance to sell drug against prescription of physicians only.
He mentioned that pharmacy should be an asset and not liability as they played vital role in health care set up and encouraged them to contribute their service for public welfare.
District Drug Control Officer (DCO) Boto Sema trained participants on different categories of drugs and its record maintenance and highlighted on Schedule C & C1, Schedule H, H1 and schedule X categories of drugs.
He also stressed on issue of substance abuse which was a socio economic menace and sought cooperation of pharmacy owners in strengthening the system by installing CCTV as directed by the district administration.
