Sensitization programme on tuberculosis held in Jakhama

Nagaland Users’ Network (NUN) in collaboration with Treatment Action Group, New York, held sensitization programme on tuberculosis on April 28 at Jakhama town with the program staffs of NUN’s targeted intervention. 
Stressing on the need for intervention of HIV and TB as part of their usual program, resource persons emphasized on a comprehensive approach to combating this dual epidemic to be part of one’s responsibility in their daily activity. 
Topics on different types of TB such as LTBI, regular TB, MDRTB and XDRTB, different categories of treatment, services available in the government set ups, benefits and advantage of treatment, diagnostics and testing were discussed during the programme. 
The program was facilitated by NUN advocacy officer Renbonthung Tungoe. Participants from the user’s community, program staff and student body representative attended the program.
