In a proactive move towards promoting child rights awareness, District Child Protection Unit under the Mission VATSALYA, Department of Social Welfare, organized a sensitization program at the Tseminyu Town Hall on December 6.
According to DIPR report, delivering keynote address, Sekho Dawhuo, District Child Rights Protection Officer, Kohima, who is also in charge of Tseminyu District Unit emphasized the importance of safeguarding child rights within the community.
Rheituohunuo Whuorie, District Project Coordinator of Child Helpline, Kohima, provided a comprehensive speech introducing Child Helpline 1098. Megoneituo Kielienyu, Legal Cum Protection Officer, delved into critical aspects such as Child Rights, POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences), Child Marriage, and the Juvenile Justice Act.
The closing remarks was made by Vepotolu Ringa, Protection Officer (IC), concluding the enlightening session with key takeaways for the participants.
