The Department of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS), in collaboration with ANPSA Central, has launched its district-level Sepak Takraw Training Program for schools across Nagaland.
The training for Dimapur and Niuland concluded recently at Grace Academy, Dimapur, from June 24 to 27, with the participation of 13 schools from Dimapur and one school from Niuland.
The program received enthusiastic response, with physical education teachers and coaches actively engaging in hands-on sessions led by Holshe Khrieo and his team.
Simultaneously, training in Chümoukedima district was conducted at Rincho Academy, Sovima, from June 24 to 27, involving 12 schools, and was met with similar enthusiasm and commitment from participants.
On July 2, training sessions for schools in Kohima, Peren, Tseminyu, Meluri, and Phek districts commenced at the IG Stadium, Kohima.
Training for Mon district also began on Tuesday at the Badminton Stadium, Mon. The sessions aim to equip teachers with the necessary skills to introduce and nurture Sepak Takraw in their respective schools, fostering grassroots development of the sport.
This initiative is part of ANPSA’s and DYRS’s broader mission to promote and strengthen sports among school-going youth in Nagaland.
