Advisor of Food & Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology & NSDMA, Pukhayi Sumi asked government servants to be sincere in their duties. “Serve the people with discipline; it is your moral integrity”, he said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function for the Sub-Treasury Office (STO) which was held in Aghunato town on April 10 at the residence of Hoito Achumi, president NDPP Aghunato.
According to a DIPR report, Pukhayi said that shifting of the Aghunato treasury to Zunheboto was not the mistake of the government but due to fault of the local people, wherein they had suffered for 26 year long years.
Pukhayi asked the public to respect the office and honour the officers and staff, as it was a privilege for Aghunato to have the sub-treasury in the area.
He exhorted the government servants to rebuild the government offices within Aghunato with their utmost sincerity and being regular at work. Pukhayi said that only a few lakh people had the privilege to be government servants out of the 20 lakh population of the state.
He warned that insincerity may invite suspensions or salaries being held back.
Pukhayi also spoke on other developmental and upgradation activities to be pursued, such as an SDPO for the police department, upgradation of SDO electrical department and ADC Aghunato to a Deputy Commissioner headquarter. He also thanked the administration for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the recently concluded elections. He also urged the public in general to “give up the spirit of impulsiveness, lies, hatred and criticism in order to be blessed.”
Earlier, the chief guest cut the ribbon and inaugurated the STO, Aghunato in the presence of Seratho Katiry, EAC, who also chaired the programme. Katiry, said that setting up of the STO for Aghunato would benefit 500 plus pensioners, government servants and more than 17 government offices at Aghunato sub-division, leading to socio-economic benefits for the people of the area.
He acknowledged Pukhayi for his unceasing efforts towards development and thanked the leaders and public who had contributed towards re-instatement of the office.
Others who spoke during the programme included Aghunato Area GBs Association chairman Kuhoje N. Achumi, Hoito I. Achumi chairman Adhoc Town Council, Samuel Sr. A A Treasury and Kashito Yepthomi GB Ghuvishe village. Invocation was pronounced by Vihoto H pastor ATBC and the benediction by Kiyeho chaplain N/P Aghunato.
DLMCP felicitates Pukhayi Sumi
Officers and staff of Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, Nagaland, felicitated the department’s Advisor, Pukhayi Sumi during an interactive meeting at his office chambers on April 9. The advisor urged the officers to work diligently in co-operation with each other and with the government to bring about the promised changes.
The Commissioner & Secretary, who presided over the meeting, congratulated the Advisor on being elected to the 13th Nagaland Legislative assembly and said the department was fortunate to have a person of his calibre and experience as its Advisor.
While presenting a brief profile of the department, Additional Controller and HoD, Bizo M. Kuotsu extended the department’s full co-operation and hoped that under the Advisor’s able leadership, the department would achieve its aims and objectives.
