SETAN stun by IEDSS scam

Special Education Teachers’ Association Nagaland (SETAN) has expressed shock to learn over the recent development under IEDSS project involving officials in the misappropriation of funds. The association said it was “astounded” as the matter came to light when it is fighting for extension of service under lot of hardships since the last extension expired from July 2014. SETAN also pointed out that besides that the members have been attending to their assigned duties until last academic year and some even doing invigilator duties at ongoing board examinations devoid of extension or salary.
Meanwhile, the association publicity secretary, L Ekonthung Lotha has lauded the vigilance commission for bringing out such atrocity to light thus giving hope to the aggrieved teachers.  The association has also requested the government to take stock of the situation and look into the matter of extension to relieve the victimized teachers.
