Seven militants surrender in Dimapur

DIMAPUR: Based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of cadres belonging to multiple factions in the general areas of Dimapur, the AR launched sustained outreach and coordination efforts to persuade misguided youths to shun violence and return to the mainstream.
As a result of persistent persuasion by the security forces, 7 hardcore anti-national elements (ANEs) belonging to various groups surrendered at Dimapur Police Station on May 7, in the presence of AR & other security agencies. During the surrender ceremony, the cadres deposited a cache of arms and ammunition, including four .22 calibre pistols with ammunition, one 7.65 mm pistol with ammunition, one single-barrel shotgun, one single-barrel gun, and one carbine with magazine.
