Several organisations flay alleged rape and murder

Several organisation have condemned the alleged rape and murder of a woman, whose body was found in Pimla area under Chumukedima district.


TU: Tenyimi Union (TU) of Dimapur, Niuland, and Chümoukedima has strongly condemned the incident and said the “heinous act” has brought to light the urgent need for justice, safety, and dignity, especially for women.


TU stated the deceased was a hardworking and respected member and her “tragic and violent death” was a direct assault on humanity and urged the authorities to expedite an impartial investigation, ensure swift justice for the perpetrators, and provide immediate support and compensation to the victim’s family.


The union also urged the community leaders, civil society groups, and citizens to unite against such crimes, emphasizing that it was not just a legal issue and stressed the need to build a society where women feel safe, valued, and protected.


WSH: Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) has expressed shock and outraged on the brutal murder of a woman, pointing out that the incident was a stark reminder of an alarming rise of violence against women.


The hoho said the discovery of her lifeless body “callously discarded” by the roadside has sent a shockwave and traumatized every section of the society.


Noting that the perpetrator(s) of such horrific crime should not have a place in the civilized society, WSH demanded thorough and impartial investigation from the authority in identifying in the perpetrator(s) at the earliest. WSH also demanded severest exemplary punishment to discourage such occurrence in future.


DSC: Dimapur Sümi Council (DSC) has strongly condemned the brutal murder of a 35-year-old mother at Mahakam Village. In condemnation note, DSC said the incident, has sent shockwaves and traumatized the community and demanded thorough and impartial investigation, speedy justice, and severe punishment for the perpetrator(s).


Highlighting the rising violence against women, DSC appealed to the urges law enforcement agencies to take concrete measures to ensure women’s safety and security.
CAKWO: Chakhro Angami Kuda Women Organisation (CAKWO) while condemning the “brutal and inhumane murder” of a Zeliangrong mother in Pimla, Chümoukedima district said such crime was inexcusable and must not be tolerated. The organisation urged the authorities to take swift action and ensure punishment and expressed solidarity with the grieving family.


CWO: Chakhroma Women Organisation (CWO) has condemned the atrocity committed against a woman in Pimla, under Chümoukedima district.


In a press release, CWO president Dievilhoutuonuo Thakro and secretary Khriehuü Krose said that the “monstrous act” against woman should be swiftly and severely punished as per the law and emphasized that violence against women must end immediately
CWO expressed solidarity with the victim’s family.


CMA: Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) has vehemently condemned the horrific incident of alleged rape and murder of an innocent mother at Pimla on April 7.
In a condemnation note, CMA said the heinous act was not only an attack on an innocent individual but also a direct attack on the safety and dignity of a women.

The CMA therefore demanded the perpetrators be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law and urged the authorities to take prompt and decisive action. CWA also reaffirmed their commitment to continue to advocate and fight for justice security and equality where women no longer have to live in fear.


CLEH: Chumoukedima Lotha Eloe Hoho (CLEH) has expressed shocked on the heinous incident of alleged rape and murder of a woman near Pimla village under Chumoukedima district. CLEH said such a barbaric and inhumane act has no place in a civilized society and urged the law enforcement authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that the perpetrator(s) were brought to justice without delay.


CLEH further appealed to all right-thinking citizens to unite in safeguarding the dignity and safety of women in the society.


DNYO: Diphupar Naga Youth Organization (DNYO) while condemning the incident encouraged the members of the society to stand together against such atrocities and work toward creating a safer and more compassionate environment for all.


DNYO through its media cell said the reprehensible act was not only a tragedy for the victim’s family but also a serious affront on the values and peace of society.
The organisation extended condolences to the victim’s family and demanded that the authorities undertake thorough investigation and ensure swift justice.


DNYO also expressed solidarity and extended support in the pursuit of justice.
WCYO: Western Chakhesang Youth Organization (WCYO) strongly condemned the “heinous and barbaric act” committed against a member of Mhaikam Village on April 7, 2025.


In a condemnation note WCYO president Wekupe Therie and general secretary Vesakho Tetseo said that the victim a devoted wife, mother, and breadwinner, was brutally deprived of her life, leaving her family in grief.


WCYO firmly asserted that such atrocities were unacceptable in society and demanded immediate action from the concerned authorities. WCYO also extended condolences to the deceased and expressed solidarity to the victim’s family.


AAYF: Aqahuto Area Youth Front (AAYF) has expressed shock by the brutal murder of a woman from Mhaikham village.


In a condemnation note, AAYF president Hutton Zhimomi and general secretary Ashito Yeptho said such “abhorrent act” has left the entire community in deep anguish and outrage.


AAYF called on the concerned law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to ensure the perpetrators were identified and brought to justice without delay.


AAYF extended condolences to the bereaved family and encouraged the community to unite in the hope for justice and to ensure such atrocities were never repeated or accepted in society.


ZCN: Zeme Council Nagaland (ZCN) has expressed shock and outraged by the alleged brutal “rape and murder” of a young mother by unidentified persons.


In a condemnation note by ZCN president, A. Ernest Sephe said the inhuman act was a grave violation of her dignity and right and urged law enforcement authorities to ensure swift justice, and the perpetrator be held fully accountable under the law.


ZCN called on everyone to honor the victim’s memory by not remaining silent, urging individuals, communities, and society to unite against gender-based violence. They also appealed to the government and law enforcement agencies to take urgent, concrete steps to ensure the safety and security of women in every village, town, and city, striving for a safer and more just world.


ZCN extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for God’s grace and comfort for the family and departed soul to rest in eternal peace.


DRYO: Dimapur Rengma Youth Organisation (DRYO) strongly condemned the brutal and inhumane murder, pointing out that such the barbaric and inhuman act was a direct assault on humanity and a grave violation of justice and peace.


DRYO through its media cell expressed sorrow and stood in solidarity with the bereaved family and Zeliangrong community. DRYO demanded authorities to take swift and strict action to apprehend the culprits and deliver justice. The organisation also cautioned that any delay or leniency will be seen as a grave betrayal of the victim and a dangerous encouragement to further violence.


DRYO further urged the law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation, leaving no stone unturned to uncover the truth and deliver justice without fear or favour.


DRSU: Dimapur Rengma Students’ Union (DRSU) has expressed shock and enraged by the alleged “horrific rape and murder” of a woman from Maikham Village at Pimla Village.


DRSU said the inhuman act was a gross violation of human dignity and a dark stain on the shared humanity. They therefore appealed to the concerned authorities to take immediate and decisive action to identify and prosecute the perpetrator(s) to the fullest extent of the law.


DRSU also urged the public, community leaders, to take an active stand against such atrocities.


CSU: Chakhroma Students’ Union (CSU) in a condemnation note said that they were saddened and outraged by the manner in which a mother, who sustain her livelihood by selling vegetables was alleged raped and killed mercilessly.


Demanding justice be delivered at the earliest, the CSU also appealed to the law enforcement to be more vigilant and take precautionary measure especially where there is inflow of outsiders on a daily basis. CSU also extended solidarity with the bereaved families during the difficult time.


OFJB: Oasis Federation Jalukie Block (OFJB) strongly condemned the heinous act of cold-blooded murder.


OFJB president, Joysi Rongmei and secretary, Pauzeuyile affirmed solidarity with the victim’s family and the community during the time of immense grief and loss.
OFJB demanded the culprit to be caught and book at the earliest and appealed to all right-minded citizens to unite in the fight for justice.


ATKK: Aqahuto Tokukujo Kukami Kuqhakulu (ATKK) (Aqahuto Area GB’s Union) strongly condemned the brutal murder, describing it as a tragedy not only for the victim’s family but for all who value life and safety. They said that such heinous acts must not go unpunished.
ATKK also demanded law enforcement agencies to swiftly and thoroughly investigate the case and ensure the guilty are held accountable.


The union extended condolences and support to the victim’s family and called on the community to unite in condemning the crime and demand justice.


PDGU: Peren District Gorkha Union (PDGU) while condemning the alleged rape and murder of a woman, appealed to the authorities to take immediate action to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.


BJYM: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Nagaland, expressed shock and outrage on the suspected rape and murder of a young woman.


BJYM through its state president Himlak A Chophi said the incident has caused immense pain and anger among right-thinking citizens, calling it unacceptable that women still face such cruelty. BJYM said the barbaric act had no place in a civilized society and should be met with the harshest legal response.


BJYM stated that the heinous crime was a wake-up call for the entire state, not just a tragedy for one family and demanded a thorough investigation, arrest, and prosecution of the perpetrators without mercy.


BJYM extended condolences and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and the Zeliangrong community and urged the state government and concerned authorities to strengthen women’s safety mechanisms and adopt proactive steps to prevent such crimes, emphasizing that every woman deserves to live without fear.


RMON: Rongmei Mothers Organisation Nagaland (RMON), along with its federating units, strongly condemned the inhuman act.


In a condemnation note by RMON president, Joysi Rongmei and general secretary, Sheela said RMON stood in unity with all sections of society in fighting such evils and stand together for justice and appealed to the concerned authorities to take immediate action to stop the perpetrator, emphasizing that justice delayed is justice denied.


RMON said that the Rongmei Mothers, through their prayers, shared in the family’s grief and pain, and prayed for God’s comfort and wisdom for them to respond in Christ’s righteousness.


TWUD: Tenyimi Women Union Dimapur (TWUD) condemned the heinous act that claimed the life of a young mother. TWUD through its president Kerei Pfukha and Information secretary Wekhroii Mekrisuh said no one should live in fear or face such tragedy and stated that together, society must work towards a just world where such crimes are eradicated, where safety and wellbeing are prioritized, and perpetrators are held accountable.


TWUD called on law enforcement authorities to conduct a thorough and swift investigation and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and pledged full support in the pursuit of justice.


ZBCC: Zeme Baptist Church Council Nagaland (ZBCC) said they were deeply pained and heartbroken at the brutal murder of a beloved member of Mhaikam Baptist Church on April 7, 2025 near Pimla Village and Mhaikam Village.


Mentioning that life was sacred and no one has the right to take other persons live, the council condemn the “gruesome crime as abominable and unacceptable”.
ZBCC said such violent crime was against the rights to live and a unbecoming incident of the Christian majority society.


They said that the murder has foreclosed the life of a young mother, robbed her child a mother and shattered a home. ZBCC witnessed that the deceased was an active member in her church, a faithful believer, the bread winner of her family, a mother of 10 years old boy and a wife.


The council further expressed condolences to the mourning family and prayed for healing and the peace of God to be with them in this painful time.
