Seyie Auto True Value Outlet was inaugurated below the BSF Camp in Kohima on Wednesday by advisor of All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), PheluopfhelieKesiezie, who attended the programme as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Kesiezie spoke on the growing global dependence on oil and the challenges it could pose in the future. He remarked that the world today revolved heavily around oil and noted reports that India imported around 85 per cent of its oil requirements from outside the country, with nearly 40 per cent passing through the Gulf of Hormuz. He pointed out that the strait had reportedly been blocked by Iran, which, he said, could have serious implications for countries dependent on oil imports.
Kesiezie said there were already indications of strain, citing reports that LPG was becoming scarce in cities such as Chennai and Bangalore and that supplies might soon be rationed.
According to him, restaurants and hotels in some areas were reportedly being forced to close due to the shortage. He cautioned that such developments were warning signs of the risks of depending heavily on resources that a country could neither produce nor manufacture on its own.
He commended the automobile manufacturer for planning ahead to ensure that business could continue even without fossil fuels, describing it as an encouraging development. At the same time, Kesiezie remarked that even in the absence of fuel or electricity, people should not lose hope. He said that the human body itself was the best form of transportation and communication provided by God, capable of travelling across roadless terrain, climbing mountains and crossing rivers. He reminded the gathering that while people saved money to purchase vehicles and other modern conveniences, they should not forget the importance of caring for their own bodies. He said the inauguration of the outlet also highlighted the importance of transportation systems, both man-made and natural, in people’s daily lives. Kesiezie expressed hope that the new outlet would flourish and create employment opportunities for young people.
He observed that companies in the automobile sector were able to employ large numbers of people and said such opportunities were encouraging for the youth. If Kohima could have such outlets, he added, thousands of similar outlets across India could provide employment to many young people and help utilise their talents. He expressed the belief that such developments were part of God’s plan to bless people and wished the new outlet success in the years ahead.
Earlier, the programme began with an invocation pronounced by Pastor Lhiwezolo Lohe, while a presentation on Seyie Auto Company was delivered by proprietor K Seyie.
