Seyochung govt employees visit district jail

Seyochung Village Government Employees’ Union (SVGEU) Kiphire visited district jail on December 28.
According to its president, Daniel Sechopi Sangtam and general secretary, K. Apila Sangtam, during a brief interaction with the inmates, urged them to take their detention as an opportunity for transformation and rehabilitation. 
They also urged the inmates to retrospect over their prison term, restore their lives constructively and not to make their past lives act as a barrier to their future.
With the objective to facilitate them to develop skills and aptitudes towards secure and right means of earning, the union provided crafting raw materials such as bamboo, plastic strings, paints and brush, glues, etc. for making traditional stools and craft baskets. The union also distributed refreshments to the inmates. 
Meanwhile, the union expressed gratefulness to the jail authorities for the support and cooperation during their visit.
