
Security forces apprehended three individuals with illegal liquor at Tizit, Mon, on August 24.
According to PRO IGAR (N), based on a specific input, security forces recovered illegal liquor worth around Rs. 70,000 being transported to Nagaland.
The apprehended individuals along with recovered liquor were handed over to Mon police station for further investigation.
Excise Dimapur seize 200 cases of liquor
Excise mobile squad duty party manning Dillai check-gate led by assistant inspector Ketouselie received specific information that a truck (AS27C7071) with liquor was coming towards Dillai check gate.
According to superintendent of excise & prohibition (MS), Dimapur, K. Toshiho Yeptho, when the truck reached the check-gate, the duty party instructed the vehicle to halt, however, the driver drove off. After the pursuit, the driver stopped the vehicle around 3rd mile area around 9:30 p.m., and fled from the scene, the release informed.
The truck was immediately seized and liquor amounting to 200 cases were found concealed under bags of potatoes.
In this connection, a case under relevant sections of NLTP Act has been registered against both the driver in absentia and the vehicle which was confiscated along with the bags of potatoes.
The superintendent of excise & prohibition (MS) informed that further investigation of the case was on.
