Shamator boxing association condemns NABA election process

DIMAPUR, AUG 14 (NPN)

The Shamator District Amateur Boxing Association (SDABA) on Thursday expressed strong condemnation over what it called “unfair practices” during the election of Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association (NABA) officials held on August 9.
In a statement, SDABA stated that it had completed all procedures through the Deputy Commissioner’s office for the formation of its association and had received official acknowledgment. However, the association alleged that Shamator, along with several other districts, was denied the right to vote in the election.
The statement further criticized the inclusion of the SDABA president in the NABA executive body without the association’s consent, calling it “an insult to SDABA as a whole” and a challenge to its integrity.
According to SDABA, eight district presidents demanded a fresh election, alleging that the process was “unfair and undemocratic,” but NABA officials “turned a deaf ear.”
“A platform that is supposed to be the ground of opportunities is now the ground of corruption,” the association said, stating that it stands with other districts that feel justice has been denied.
SDABA urged for immediate redress, warning that “justice delayed is justice denied.”
