Shamator road project, Memorial Clock Tower inaugurated

Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports and chairman DPDB Shamator, S. Keoshu Yimchunger, inaugurated the Shamator Town Road improvement project and the Toshi Wungtung Memorial Clock Tower on April 7.
According to DIPR report, addressing the gathering, Keoshu said the blacktopping of the town road was undertaken to benefit residents. He expressed gratitude to the Shamator Town Public Forum, district administration, general public and well-wishers for their support.
The advisor noted that the Clock Tower project, initiated by late Toshi Wungtung, a visionary and extraordinary leader, has been named in his honour to inspire future generations.
The advisor also outlined plans to continue work on remaining stretches, including roads from the Memorial Clock Tower to Public Ground, Shotang Traffic Point to Veterinary Office, and Shotang Traffic Point to St. Xavier Road via PHED ward.
Yansomong, vice president of YTC, expressed satisfaction with the pace of development since the district’s formation. Neoji, secretary of Shamator Town Public Forum, acknowledged Keoshu’s efforts and urged installation of a clock to complete the tower project. Podi Kapo, SDO (Civil), lauded the rapid development in Shamator, attributing it to the people’s choice of a visionary leader.
