Shops to open on Sundays in Chümoukedima

In view of the Hornbill Festival and festive season and also to facilitate shoppers for shopping, Chümoukedima Town Council administrator and ADC, Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo on Tuesday notified all shops/market to open on all Sundays till January 7, 2024.


Meanwhile, all shopkeepers have been directed to paint /white wash their respective shops and fix a star on their respective signboards compulsorily before November 30, 2023.
Further, all wards/colonies under CTC jurisdiction have also been asked to decorate/beautify their own respective areas/ward, adding that the notice will come into immediate effect and will remain in force till January 7, 2024.


In another circular, ADC said that a mass social work would be carried out on November 28 from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in all wards and along the stretch of NH-29 within Chümoukedima Town jurisdiction.

All ward GBs/chairman have been directed to mobilize public to participate in their respective wards. All shopkeepers/business establishment have also been asked to participate in the social work and also to ensure provision of two dustbins (Dry/ Wet) in their premises and not to litter their waste on the road side.
During the drive, all shop owners, business establishment have been asked to down shutters.
